but You never came.
I had no capacity to invite You,
still, I wished You would come,
be it even by negligence.
I had no golden throne,
nor a seat decorated with silken bedsheets.
And neither had I decorated the path with alpana,
hoping You would arrive by mistake.
There is no affluence of wealth in this hut of mine,
nor plentifulness of any kind, to be shown to the world.
But with a mind filled with sweetness,
I had expected You would come,
even if only by making the mistake of forgetting the path.
