When You perform the tandava dance intensely,
the dambaru (Your hand held drum) resonates through the clouds in the distant sky,
and by blowing the vishana (Your long horn),
the whole world shivers.

Your valuable and infallible trident
uproots and wipes away accumulated sins.
You destroy darkness, with laughter,
and with the third eye, You burn all immoral thoughts.

You are suppressor of the wicked and the protector of the righteous.
You are everyone’s dearest
and You are the beautifier of the three worlds.
From Your annihilating arrow, who would know where to run away?
By it, all immorality disappears from the earth.
