I bolted the doors of my mind
and slept until late,
even though the morning sun
was peeping through my window.
My mind was cluttered
with the relativities of place and time.
My awareness of people
was limited to the distinctions between them.

Never did I think of true human existence.
Due to self-centred sentiments
I had lost proper discrimination
and was intoxicated by dogma.

Forgetting the tranquility of pure thought,
concentration of mind eluded me.
