Break my lethargy
with harsh calls.

In this darkness,
keep my lamp ever lighted.

That on the journey of this path
my eyes do not remain closed,
and, should I ever lose my path,
I not stop searching.

Like the sandal that spreads in the moonlight,
Your voice eternally resonates in the sky.

I do not want a soft,
milky white bed,
nor colourful, enchanting decorations.
Neither do I want the shame of defeat.

I want only light,
more and more light.
The light that will take me
beyond all limitations.

........................................................

Shatter my dullness with a clap of thunder!
In this darkness,
keep the lamp of my hopes eternally illuminated...
so that I not close my eyes on this path of light,
or become bewildered searching for it.

As sandalwood is mingled with moonlight,
so floats Your sweet sound joyously through the sky.

I do not want a bed as fine and white as milk.
I do not want a perfumed and colourful dress.
I do not want the shame of defeat.
I want only light, more light, more light
that light which will take me beyond all bondage.
