I had imagined You to be very far.
I had never thought You could be so close.

I had gone on pilgrimage,
traversing forests and mountains,
but did not find You anywhere.

O divinity,
You perform Your divine game,
and look down on me as a very meagre entity,
giving me a crooked smile.

When I am lying down fatigued,
You lift me on Your lap.
I then find You closer than I could have ever imagined.

From within Your mind,
You observe all,
and witness all activities.

You purify even those
ceaselessly inflicting burns and injuries on others.
And yet, You never forget.
