In the midst of all sorrows,
You came to me O Lord.
Reliever of all agonies,
with silent steps,
with Your sweet smile and pleasing face.

I called You with all my heart.
I looked towards You with all my sincerity.
With hands upraised I said:
"I take shelter in You as the be all and end all of my life."

With open eyes I noticed
that the whole sky was filled
with effulgence radiating from You.
I sang and sang Your songs
and caught hold of Your feet.

You came as their reliever.
You came with silent footsteps
and calm eyes,
with a sweet smile
and a pleasant face.

In distress I called You,
anxiously looking for You,
raising both my hands,
I announced I was taking Your shelter.

And on opening my eyes,
I saw effulgence rising into the sky.
Singing and chanting Your name,
I caught hold of Your feet.
